Acne Breakouts, Dryness, Redness, Eczema or Psoriasis? These are the ways our inner body talks to us through our skin. Just like an iceberg, our skin is only a small, visible part of our body. There’s so much under the surface and make no mistake, Your Skin Is A Reflection Of Your Inner Health!
That might sound like a bold statement, but the truth is if you’re experiencing issues with your skin, it’s your body crying out for help. And it’s an opportunity for you to improve your overall health from the inside out.
We all tend to forget that our skin is the biggest organ in the human body. It’s also the last to receive any nutrients because your heart, lungs, liver, blood, intestines – all internal bits and pieces – get the good stuff first. When we’re not getting enough of the vitamins, minerals, good fats, fresh water – our internal organs are compromised and unable to perform their jobs. Conversely if we’re consuming too much of one food group or eating foods our body doesn’t like our internal bits and pieces can become inflamed or congested.
Congestion, Irritation, and Sluggishness will come to the surface overtime and although it’s easy to buy a cream and correct the problem, the underlying issue isn’t going away. My hope is to convince you to use your skin as a barometer for the internal health of your body and to provide solutions for healing outside of pharmaceuticals and temporary topical treatments. Drinking fresh water & vegetable juices, eating more beautiful fruits and veggies, replacing some of your animal foods with plant based protein sources- these are just the start of simple ways to balancing your health inside and out.
There are two approaches, always, to managing health. You can look outward for a solution, a bandage to cover the issue for a period of time. But the outward solution doesn’t fix the problem, it only buys time for the wound to fester and grow. The alternative approach is to look inward for solutions, to tweak our diets and lifestyles so our dis-eases are corrected before illness sets in. But before you decide which approach is best for you, you have to be open and willing to listen to your skin when it whisper – help.
