Summer is almost here and I couldn’t think of a more creative way to get my family excited about eating fruits and veggies than by starting a Fruit and Veggie Family Challenge Printable. This 7 day challenge will get you and your family focused on the nutrients that matter while adding in some family competition!
For my family, we try really hard to drink our water and eat our fruits and veggies but during the summer, with long days and less structure, we can be hit or miss with our health goals. So this year I thought it would be fun to create a little challenge to see just how well we can turn our attention from s’mores and slushies to strawberries and sweet potatoes. If your family is anything like mine, a good old fashioned competition is the way to make veggie eating fun!
The fun of this free printable is that you can use it all year long and YOU get to make up the rules. For our family, I’m not going to be super militant about the portion size. So if Olivia has 5 cherry tomatoes instead of a bowl full, I’m going to let her mark off a veggie. And if our morning smoothies contain have a handful of ice, we’ll check off one of the water markers. The idea is to have fun and focus on the good while you’re slowly eliminating the candy and cookies that pops up at every turn.
